Update TouchChat and TouchChat HD application software

Although a wireless update is possible, we suggest doing updates with a wired connection to a PC running iTunes®.

Note:  if using a Dedicated System, see article, "Connecting to a Computer for the First Time"

To perform an update of the TouchChat app:

  1. Connect your device to your PC using the USB cable included with the device.
  2. Launch iTunes® on your PC
  3. Go to the Apps section of iTunes®

  4. In the bottom right of the screen, there is an option to “Check for Updates”

  5. Enter in the Apple® ID that you purchased TouchChat or TouchChat HD with previously

  6. Update should start

Updating directly from the device is also an option. The App Store® icon should show when updates are available to download on the device.

When there is an update available, the app store icon will display a number on the right hand corner of the icon.

  1. Tap on the App Store® icon
  2. Tap on Updates on the bottom right of the screen
  3. The apps that require updating will show up
  4. Tap either update on the application or you can tap update all in the upper right hand corner
  5. Enter in the Apple® ID that you purchased TouchChat or TouchChat HD with previously
  6. The update will start downloading

Check the version number of TouchChat

The version number can be seen when the device is in portrait mode

  1. From the home page of the vocabulary file tap Vocab in the left corner

  2. tap on Choose New Vocab
