Making the change to TouchChat HD will bring you new features and updates to keep you communicating at your highest level.

Is TouchChat going away?
No, only the three Classic TouchChat apps (Classic TouchChat with WordPower®, Classic TouchChat, and Classic TouchChat Lite) are retiring due to older technology. The three TouchChat HD apps are here to stay.
How do I know which TouchChat app I have?
Look at your device’s home screen where all app icons are located. Classic TouchChat app icons have pink or purple backgrounds.
Can I still use my Classic app until the spring retirement?
Yes, your app will continue to function as usual until early May 2024.
Can I use my Classic app after the spring retirement?
Yes, your Classic TouchChat app will stay on your device unless it’s deleted. Limited support will be available, and you will not receive new app updates.
I accidentally deleted my Classic app. Can I download it again before the spring retirement?
Yes, it will be available to download until early May 2024. After the spring retirement, you will NOT be able to download or re-install your app on your current iOS device or install it on a future iOS device.
If I get a new iPad or iPhone, can I transfer my Classic app to it before/after the spring retirement?
Your Classic TouchChat app will continue to function as usual until early May 2024. You may transfer it to a different iOS device until it retires. After the spring retirement, you will NOT be able to download or re-install your app on a future iOS device.
Can I transfer my Classic vocabulary pages to TouchChat HD? How?
Yes, and we hope you will! Your voice is made up of your customized vocabulary pages and it would be beneficial to take them with you to your new TouchChat HD app. Here’s how.
I work at a school and our iPads are managed by a mobile device management system (MDM). How do I know which TouchChat app I have?
You can check with your IT / Assistive Technology staff member, or you can look at your device’s home screen where all app icons are located. Classic TouchChat app icons have pink or purple backgrounds as shown below. If you notice a Classic app, let your IT / Assistive Technology team know that this app will be retiring in early May 2024.
I work at a school and our iPads are managed by a mobile device management system (MDM). Will I be able to use Classic apps after the spring app retirement?
After the Classic apps retire in early May 2024, you will no longer be able to move them between iOS devices. Apps will stay on their current device unless deleted.
