Programming:
Editing The Speech Display Bar

(TouchChat must be updated to 2.41.)

Check out our tutorial video for more information!

Editing by tapping the SDB

You can place your cursor anywhere in your SDB by tapping your finger. There are two ways to activate this:

Settings Menu

  1. Menu - Settings - [Speech Display Bar] - enable Allow Place Cursor.

    place cursor

  2. Press and hold on the SDB.
  3. Select Place Cursor.
  4. The SDB will turn to Cyan to allow you to move your cursor by tapping on the new spot in the SDB.

    Using a Button

    1. Edit a button using the Place Cursor Button Action. (Click here to learn more about editing a button.)

    Editing by using Vocabulary Buttons

If you want to add buttons to your vocabulary to move your cursor in the speech display bar, you can use the following button actions:

    Cursor Mode:

Changes the cursor movement mode: Cycle, Character, Word, or Sentence.

If you select Cycle, pressing the button toggles among Character, Word, and Sentence modes. Each time you tap the button, the button label changes according to the current mode (even if you created your own button label).
If you select Character, pressing the button moves the cursor left or right by one character. If you select Word, pressing the button moves the cursor left or right by one word. If you select Sentence, pressing the button moves the cursor left or right by one sentence.

    Move Cursor:

Moves the cursor in the SDB left, right, up, or down. If you select left or right,
pressing the button will move the cursor left or right by one character, word, or
sentence within a line in the SDB. If you select up or down, pressing the button
will move the cursor up or down by one line in the SDB.

    Place Cursor:

Inserts the cursor in the SDB. The SDB and the button will also change to Cyan (a
greenish-blue color) to indicate Place Cursor mode. When you enter additional
text, the SDB will exit Place Cursor mode. To exit Place Cursor mode without
entering additional text, simply tap the button.
