Using IShare And Chat Editor

Transferring a file from Chat Editor to iShare:

• On Chat Editor:
  1. Open Chat Editor on your computer
  2. Choose a TouchChat configuration
  3. Choose Library- Transfer- Vocabs to file
  4. The transfer box will appear- click on the file you wish to export, then choose Transfer from the top left hand side
  5. A Windows Save As dialog box will appear
  6. Save your vocab file to your computer (remember where you save it to) and make sure the .ce remains at the end of the file name

• On the iShare website (via computer):
  1. Log into your iShare account at www.ishareservices.com
  2. On the iShare account screen, click on Add File on the left of the screen
  3. On the Add File screen, enter the information that is needed, i.e. revision, description, keywords
  4. Select which category you want your vocab file to be associated with
  5. Click on the Browse button, find the vocab file you exported from Chat Editor, click on the file and then click Open
  6. Click Submit, just below the file area

• • On the TouchChat app:
    1. Tap on Vocab- Choose New Vocab
    2. Tap Menu- iShare Service
    3. Log in using the same iShare account you just used
    4. Choose My Files and then the category where you stored your file
    5. Tap on your file and then choose the download button
    6. The “Download complete OK” screen should appear
    7. Tap Ok and Back until you see a Done button.  Tap Done
    8. Back at the Vocab File screen, your vocab file should be listed.
    9. Choose your vocab file

Transferring a file from Chat Editor to iShare:

• On the TouchChat app:
  1. Tap Vocab- Choose New Vocab
  2. Choose Menu- iShare Service
  3. Choose My Files
  4. Tap All Categories- the + button and select the file you wish to Upload
  5. Make sure the file has a short Name, Description, and Keywords for the file. Then press the Upload button.
  6. Press OK on the Upload Complete box that appears on the TouchChat device screen

• On the iShare website (via computer):
  1. Open the Chat Editor program on your computer
  2. Log into your iShare account at www.ishareservices.com
  3. Search the categories on the iShare site to find your uploaded file. If you don’t see it you may have to tap the windows refresh button to complete the transfer to the iShare site.
  4. Select the green arrow that corresponds to your file to download it to your computer
  5. The file should automatically download to your computer.

• • On Chat Editor:
    1. Select Library- Transfer- Vocabs from File. Browse to your downloads folder on your computer, select the file and choose Open.
    2. A progress bar will show an Import File progress box
    3. When the import is finished you can open the downloaded vocabulary file by clicking on Library- My Resources then click on the file you want to open and choose Open.
